McCracken 22 Putting Challenge Rules and Guidelines
- "McCracken 22" is a 2-player game. The first player that reaches 22 points (or more) is the winner.
- Players will flip a coin to see who will putt first. They will alternate holes from that point forward.
- The player that is choosing the hole will place a ball marker on the green. Players will hit their first putts one putter head distance from the left of the ball marker. The goal is for each player to putt from as close to the same spot as possible.
- This is important as it relates to the possibility of having a stymie that the other player must consider before they putt their two balls.
- The Player that putts first, will putt their 2 balls in succession. Those 2 balls will remain where they stop. There will be stymies on the first putts only.
- The next player will then putt their 2 balls. If a first putt hits any ball, including their own ball, the balls will remain in their final resting position to determine scores. A player may hit their ball and/or their opponents ball closer to or into the hole and that would be considered a Hole-In-One.
- Second putts will be played in order with the furthest ball away from the hole putting first. Players may mark their balls for the second putts if necessary.
- Once a player has holed or missed their second putt, the hole is over. Three putts are maximum. When a player misses their second putt they will pick that ball up. They do not have to hit a third putt.
McCracken 22 Scoring
- 1 Point will be awarded for each Closest-To-The-Hole (CTTH). CTTH points are awarded in two separate stages. The first stage requires taking the ball that is CTTH compared against the opponents ball that is CTTH with the closest of those two balls being awarded one point. The second stage requires taking the two remaining balls and comparing the ball that is CTTH compared against the opponents ball that is CTTH with the closest of those two balls being awarded one point. It is simple, players will receive either 0, 1, or 2 points on each hole.
- On holes #10 thru #16, CTTH points will be doubled. 2 Points will be awarded for each CTTH.
- 3 Points will be awarded for each Hole-In-One.
- 2-Point Bonus: If a player makes two Hole-In-Ones on a hole, they receive two additional Points. That would be a total of 8 points (3+3+2 = 8).
- 3-Points (3) will be awarded to the opponent when a player 3-putts.
- 2-Point Penalty: If a player has two 3-Putts on a hole, their opponent will receive two additional Points. That would be a total of 8 points (3+3+2 = 8).
